KMK: Swine Flu Strikes Aussies

Well, it looks like another group of folks are getting a taste of what it’s like to be an English teacher in South Korea. The Aussie Lacrosse team has been held in quarantine for swine flu in Seoul just like the ESL teachers who have been all over the blogosphere.

All in all 27 people affiliate with the team have been put on swine flu lockdown. In a total catch 22 they show no signs of swine flu and so cannot be tested for swine flu unless they show signs and so they cannot be released until it is determined they are swine flu free.

One player who arrived earlier did test positive for the virus and has been in recovery in Seoul. The folks made a youtube vid to keep their spirits up.

I feel bad for those aussie blokes. Now they know how it feels to be a foreigner in Korea when the shiny starry eyed fandom of being an athlete disappears and they’re simply FOREIGN with SWINE FLU.

Oh, and can i just add Lacrosse? People actually play that professionally? Who knew???
