Which is exactly how I felt when I strolled into class yesterday with my mind full of smiling faces of my students eager to wish me a happy teacher’s day and maybe, just maybe, a knick knack or two. Fond memories of last year and the presents I received made me a fool, because this time around my hopes were dashed against the indifference of middle schoolers.
Teacher’s Day! Ha! To them that meant they shouldn’t receive any homework and class time should’ve been a free period to help me celebrate. Oh, well, I guess I’ll have to scratch any more pizza parties from my plans.
Still, it was nice that one kid drew a picture of me and scrawled Happy Teacher’s Day on it.
