KMK: Bundang

Bundang

Awhile ago, on a crisp saturday morning, I made my way down to a suburb of Seoul named Bundang. I was down there during my rounds of interviewing. My friends had warned me that Bundang was not really in Seoul proper, despite it being on the subway line.

They were right, because it took quite a journey to get down there, but once I arrived I discovered that Bundang didn’t need to be any closer to Seoul since everything I could ever need was right there.

The city itself is fairly new and that shows in the way the city is laid out. One long thouroughfare stretches thoughout the suburb alongside a river and park. Streets branch off with apartment buildings, stores and shops, restaurants, cafes and other businesses.

Bundang is one of the new hot spots where people are flocking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Seoul while still enjoying the comforts of big city life. There is even a new Subway station going up that will connect directly with Gangnam.

Everything felt new and decidely clean in Bundang. It’s definitely not some small sleepy suburb on the edge of Seoul. Enjoy the rest of the pics and if you get a chance pop on down there and check things out. I recommend starting at Jeongja or Seohyeon Station on the bundang line.
